I found these tiny metal buckets in a local shop a few weeks ago and they were just too cute to resist. I had the idea to make them into little Easter gifts for friends and family. I like the rosette type decorations so thought I would make some into flowers, The chicken is cut on the Cricut using Animal Kingdom cart

Altered jewellery stand
Can't quite get the effect of the gilding with the camera |
Rubbed back for a more distressed look |
I got some lovely vintage fabric, napkins and clothes, mainly to wash and use for patchwork. A nasty mirror and thing for hanging jewellery on and some books, some to read some to alter and all in all I spent about 2.00 :-)
Here is the first of them, altered and in my opinion better now.
Before
Not my sort of thing as it is |
NOW
Painted with acrylic paint, first leaf green followed by a coat of cream. Then touched over with gilding size and flakes rubbed on for a random gilded effect |
Not great photo's but it looks nicer in real life
Big 40th Birthday Card
This is a regular baking doiley, sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer Mists. Cut another oval on the Cricut (Plantin Schoolbook) and stamp around the edge using the Kaisercraft Vintage lace stamp and versamark, emboss in silver powder, ink lightly with Distress Paint in pink and mount doiley on top
Cut Happy Birthday in font and shadow from the Celebrations cartridge at 3 inches and glitter
A variety of flowers, paper, silk and ribbon and the stick pins
Using the tag feature cut numbers using the Celebrations Cartridge
K & Co Valentines papers and silver mirror board for the mount
Ribbon and lace attached at the bottom
Valentine cute mini
Just playing round with some of the leftovers from my main Valentines card. These little mini cards where to good to ignore, so I made a folded element to add to the front of the card and tied with ribbon. Downside is it won't now stand up :-( should have made it into an easel card maybe?
Kaisercraft Lace Stamp
K & Co Valentines Papers
Nestabilities Dies to cut card blank shape
Honeycomb paper pop up heart, cut freehand
Leftover Die cut hearts for a card to daddy from Betsy :-)

Crochet and sewing detour
Have been taking a Craft detour this weekend finishing up some WIP's. I had loads of balls of wool leftover from various project,s so knitted and crochet'ed them into squares to make a multi-colour lap blanket. It's not finished yet but looking funky so far. I must say putting the pieces together today kept me nice and warm with all the snow falling outside. Just found Betsy curled up on it!! another conquest for her? I think not, this is mine baby girl :-)
Using up some of the zillions of fabric off-cuts from SIL to make some new cushion covers as mine all looked a little sad.
And I wanted to try my hand at an Owl, he is a little wonky, but I am sure when Betsy gets her paws on him he will look a lot worse. She has been watching his progress and thinks he is her's so I dare say she will win in the end!!...lol

After all it's hard work this weekend my sewing machine has given up the ghost :-( Damn and blast as I have a new Jelly Roll to sew up into a patchwork. I had better visit the sewing machine doctor....
