Birthday Smash

Basic Ingredients

I have never done this before and I am not sure I have got the true meaning of a Stash Book down here but it's my version.  I found it hard to break away from the Scrapbooking regime and found having a more random approach quite a challenge but I worked fast and didn't give myself to much time to think which helped a bit.  I found the ideas for these online, I had not heard of them before so it shows how I am out of touch with what's trending right now :-(

I was very spoilt this year for my birthday and had some beautiful cards and gifts from family and friends.   The gifts came in such lovely bags and had my favourite thing right now, Owls on so I "deconstructed" them to make the papers for this book.  Gift bags make the covers, envelopes are reused to make pockets, elements from the left over bags cut out to use as embellishments and the ribbon handles are also used in the book.

Stash used
Birthday Gift bags, cards and tags
sticky tape, binding rings, ribbons, card stock, Tim Holtz dies, Cropodile, chip board, googly eyes
Photo's
K & Co Neopolitan Stickers
I won't bore you with all the details just let the photo's speak for me
thanks for looking

Birthday Card for Mum

The controversial card my other half thinks it looks like a Tombstone/gravestone and now he has said that I am thinking he is right, its supposed to be a birthday card :-(
This is the second attempt, sorry for the awful photo's the light is not good. The paper is Basic Grey so you know it looks a lot better in real life :-) I used some sheets of Infuse and Blush. Cut on my Cricut with Winter Woodland for the Tombstone!! and walk in my garden for the other bits.

Just how much mess can you make doing 2 cards well the answer if you are me, is this much!! :-)

More than a card

So.... you can tell OH is working away - lol No restrictions for time, cooking, cleaning etc so I am making the most of it today as he is home tomorrow so back to kitchen duties :-(

This first little book is just 2" x 3", a concertina story of the snowman

A larger version made with the long story images. These Papermania (I think) papers just go with the Snowman so well
This is a double fold book, it has glitter and decoupage on it but the photo's may not show that to well :-( I have had fun making these today, just need to find enough peole to give them to.

Autumn and more Copper Cards

** The greeting is matted on rust colour card not pink :-( the flash has caught it badly and makes it look wrong. Thats in answer to a conversation I had the other day ;-)

I did a major clear out over the weekend and found a lot of card that I bought ages ago in colours I am not keen on, but it has come in handy for these cards. I made it a project to try and use some of it and I am having a lot of fun with what I have made so far.

If you want to have a go at a similar card to this here is how I made it.

I embossed some of this metalic pearl paper with the Cuttlebug, a bit of fiddling and I got a fairly even coverage of the leaves using the embossing folder
I then rubbed the raised parts with Versamark and rubbed some pearl mica powder over in copper and other metalic colours. It doesn't show too well here but it has a fab multicolour sheen.
I had this copper card but it was a bit too bright so by rubbing a Brown Stazon pad over the edges and rubbing it the ik took away some of the sheen to make a matt with
now looks like this
I stamped some leaves around the edge of the Mink Pearl card base and heat embossed it with clear powder
With the cutting folder of the set I cut 6 leaves and embossed them in the Cuttlebug, then I rubbed them with brown, red, yellow and dark orange stazon to give an Autumn colour effect
Stamp and matt a greeting onto Core'dinations and rub the edges with a mini sander tool to distress it
Matt the paper onto the bronze matt then onto the main card and add the leaves with some decoupage pads and some just flat to give a raised effect and thats the card finished. I hope you like some of the effects I have used here.

These are double embossed images mounted onto simple cards and the papers I made yesterday made into cards
