Domino Mini Books

I finally managed to get some dominoes in the right sort of plastic to play with most of the cheap ones are black and have a pattern, but these for 2.00 in the charity shop were just plain white so perfect. Good old Gerry came to the rescue with his trusty drill and made the holes for me to put the brads in for the closures. I got some Superglue for this in the £ shop (stuck my fingers together nearly at one point!!) 12 tubes for a quid can't be bad, mind you once its been opened it doesn't last long it soon dries out but at that price its not a problem.

I used Ranger Alcohol Inks, Brads, Charms, waxed linen thread for the closures and my attempt at "signatures" or proper book binding but I prefered the concertina version it just looks neater. I am sure I would get better at that with practice but I prefer the zigzag effect. Ranger Archival Ink and clear embossing powder, mini mosaic pieces and metal accents.

The stamps are Paper Artsy, another no brand (text) and some really dinky mini stamps I got at the show in Farnborough which were a bargain at 75p each. The glossy accents isn't dry in some of the photo's but you can just about see what they are.

I love the stamp which says "Its late my love he whispered, thats enough blogging for one night, time for bed" very apt for me.

I learnt
  • that life is too short to make sewn book pages!
  • I should not be let loose with Superglue
  • to wear gloves when using inks :-(
  • I need to get some patience :-)
