I so love that film "Summer Magic" made in 1963!! with Burl Ives singing this song, showing my age now... lol. It started with some photo's I took in the garden of the millions of Cinnebar Caterpillars that have sprung everywhere and in one of the shots there was a beetle and a caterpillar together on a flower.In the song he sings "once a lonely caterpillar sat and cried, to a sympathetic beetle by his side" and I just had to make this book using them. I have added some of the other shots too. I cannot get this song out of my head now :-( its one to keep going round in your head at bedtime and you know how annoying that is.
Oh nearly forgot to say papers are Basic Grey "Lime Rickey", 3d adhesive vellum bugs, ribbons, gems, leaf punch, buttons and inks.

ReplyDeletethis book is amazing my 5 year old daughter sat next to me and she loves minibeasts and she cant get over it bless her, love that film and song too so it cant be an age thing cos i am only 30 lol
