Bind-it All Calender
I have made a start on some stocking fillers for Christmas, as these are quite time consuming its a good job I have. Now I have got the idea others should be a bit faster though.
Materials -
First cut 3 pieces of card at 6 1/2" x 4" (cover 2 0f these) and 1 piece at 4" x 4" and cover with designer papers, the last larger piece is used as the front cover. This piece I chalked on the edges and mounted a piece of matching designer paper on (all edges are chalked to save me keep saying it) Then do your date and add that to the cover.
Cut 12 pieces of card at 6" x 4" for the month pages.
Cut the Month papers with the nestabilities
Seperate the date pages
Assemble the pages with a month circle and date sheet as per the photo's, leave a small gap at the top for the binding holes and add embellishments as you wish, but remember to make sure it will still go in the bind-it all
To Assemble
First score the 4" x 4" piece in the centre so it folds the mountain fold will go up to fold it flat
Punch both sides of this piece and the top and bottom (short sides) of the 2 designer paper covered pieces (not the front cover)
Bind the small piece on both sides to the 2 larger pieces as shown
Punch your calender pages and the cover on the top short edge.
Now arrange your pages in month order with the cover on top then bind this together and there you have your calender.
** The bottom of the calender and cover pages are NOT bound at the bottom, it won't flip over if you do!!
I think this makes sense, hopefully the photo's will help to see what I mean :-) If not this lady makes a calender which is not the same as mine but the bottom part is so you can watch that bit to see how its done here
I am going to make a box for these to go in as the binding at the folder part means they are a bit bulky for an envelope.
Materials -
- Karen Foster Calender pages
- Core'dinations card and designer papers
- Bind-it All and wires I used 1/2" but if you add more embellishments you may need a larger one
- Cricut with ALphalicious cart ( you could use stamps etc for the date though)
- Preprinted calender books, available in most stationers for about 15p
- Nestabilities scalloped circle at 3 1/2"
- Chalks
- Glue and DS Tape
- Corner rounder

Yummy & Gooey :-)
Just a quick little post to show you this, I have been dying to try my new punch out on one of these cake boxes, I have had the cart Tags Bags and Boxes a while too and this is its first outing. Still with Halloween and Christmas just around the corner I am sure it will get a lot more use.
Papers K & Co - time to do about 15 mins so being this easy they would be great for Wedding Favours, Birthdays, Kids Partys etc etc. This measures approx 2" high x 6" long x 3" across at the end and it took a sheet of 12 x 12 so not cheap to do for large quantities :-( But you can get a nice big bit of cake in it !!! :-)

Paper piecing and more of those flowers!!
Had lots of little pieces of this pretty paper left which was about to go in the bin when I thought I might try some simple shape cutting and houses suited the bill. I hand cut the tree trunks and added a few gems and I have a cute little new home card :-)
Not made windmills for ages so when I saw them in a magazine I had to have a play and this card came out of it
Finally I had a bunch of these flowers that I made to practice my Copics on so rather than waste them I made these cards. I promise I will not do anymore for a while. I have some other nice new stamps and although it goes against my beliefs to do Christmas before Halloween there might just be a few appearing!!
Papers - Papermania, Freebies from a magazine, Bloom and Grow, Textured vellum, Cardstock, Co'redinations and K & Co
Stamps - Bloom and Grow, alphabet ones and assorted greetings.
gems, cuttlebug, inks, nestabilities, Sticky Goo punch.
craft room essentials.

Just for you
A little card made to go in the box with the Beehive Album for my mum.
I used - Papermania paper, Bloom and grow stamps, Sakura pens to colour, gems and my New Martha Stewert punch Sticky Goo to do the edge. Odd choice but I want to get my moneys worth from it :-) I love this and have lots of ideas for it, Halloween cards being one of the first options but I can see it as a lot of other things too.

Bloom & Grow Card, Wiper Card and Exam congrats
My nieces came over today for a "Crafty Day" we haven't had much chance to do this lately so it was nice. They are 11 and 13 and great little crafters. They bothworkedon their scrapbbooks as they had some holiday photo's to put in. In between acting as a "craft sho" they help me use all the stuff I buy and will never use and adviser !! I made a couple of cards. Lucy the youngest made a great layout with photo's of her being made into a sand mermaid at the beach and Emily did a couple of 6 x 6 layouts with her photo's for the small Smirk Album I had got her as an extra birthday gift.
My Card - Cream Card, Bloom and Grow clear stamps, the stamped images are coloured with Copics in olive and light olive markers and the rest with watercolour markers, clear embossing powder, Distress inks in Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy, Bloom and Grow papers, Sakura brown gel glaze for the greeting, and basic tools and glue etc.
I stamped the cream card and heat embossed with clear powder, then I rubbed the antique linen pad all over followed by the Brushed cord on a piece of foam to pop the images forward.
I cut a selection of scalloped squares with Nestabilities from brown pearl paper and bloom and grow papers and arranged them onto the backing
Stick the flowers and a few leaves on randomly
Stamp the greeting on a piece of the cream card and distress as before them mount onto brown pearl and add to the front
I also had a go at this Wiper Card from a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here, its not quite right but I love it because it pops up when you open it. I will have another go when I have less distractions :-( I hope to get it working better then.
And finally a slider "well done" card for my OH's niece as she got A's in her exam results today, Well Done Abigail, good luck for Uni. enjoy :-)

This is pretty much the same as the last in method I just choose a different shape for the album itself and of course the same photo's of Noah. This one is definately mine :-) The other one has gone to Great Grandma. I really like the way they will stand up bound with a ring at the top, I was going to use the bind-it all but the shape makes it impossible... but if I had the new pink version well that might have done it ok :-)
I used the cropdodile to make the holes, it came in useful at last!! Some mini alpha stamps for the wording, Basic Grey letters for the cover and the flower stamps are the New Bloom and Grow Set from My Minds Eye. The long borders are great as I could bend them a little to make them go round the tortoise shell shape. I like the stitch detail on these and they seem to go well with the whole album theme.
thanks for looking
xx
